## First Voron Build: Stock v0.2 + Mini Bento Box I based my first Voron v0.2 build on a [Siboor Kit](https://www.siboor.com/product/siboor-voron-0-2-r1-3d-printer-kit-color-frame-color-abs-parts/), which includes all necessary printed parts. I could have printed the parts in ASA on my X1C, but I decided to take a shortcut by buying the printed parts. I'm keeping things mainly stock for the initial build, with one exception: I've added the Mini Bento Box mod. The Siboor kit also had several mods included: - **Kirigami sheet metal bracket** – Sturdier than the version based on extrusions - **RGB indicator in the front panel** - **75W bed heater** - **Umbilical breakout toolboard** - **Polycarbonate panels** - **TZ-V6 hotend** ## Planned Upgrades Once the initial build is complete and tuned, I plan to add the following hardware upgrades: - **Bondtech LGX Lite Extruder** – A lightweight, high-precision extruder with excellent filament control. - **Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W/BTT SKR Pico** – I'm going to replace the Fly Gemini V3 that comes with the Siboor Kit with a more standard hardware combination. - **[Fizzy's Tech Panel Clips](https://www.printables.com/model/933648-ft-panel-clips-for-voron-v0v01v02)** – Quickly remove and replace the panels - **[Build Plate Stops](https://www.printables.com/model/637251-voron-02-build-plate-stop)** – Orient the build plate faster and more reliably - **Silicone Bed Leveling Mounts** – Replace the stock bed springs - **Dragon Burner Tool Head** – I am standardizing all my printers on Dragon Burner After the printer is proven and stable, I'll add these mods. I'll also wait until [[Helium]] is up and running, so I always have a working Voron. ## Using the First Printer to Build the Second After the Hydrogen is tuned, I'll print parts for a second Voron v0.2 build, which I've named [[Helium]]. This second printer will serve as a testbed and a production machine, allowing me to experiment without taking the original machine offline. Once [[Helium]] is up and running, I'll complete the upgrades on the original printer with the LGX Lite and X1C hotend. ## Current State After the initial build and tuning, I was able to print successfully for about 76 hours. After that, I started to experience significant layer shifts. I've checked everything possible non-destructively. At this point, I'm going to tear down and rebuild the entire XY motion system. > [!note]- Colophon > ![[Printer Naming#Hydrogen/Helium]] ![[Discussions]]
